Andrew Symons, MD, served as NYSAFP president from 2022-23. Dr. Symons is a practitioner and educator in western NY and is affiliated with the University of Buffalo. During his tenure as president he was instrumental in promoting tax credits for physician preceptors, mandatory reporting of adult vaccinations to the NYS vaccine registry and single payer health care. He also led the development of statewide resident receptions to connect residents in family medicine with family medicine practices for recruitment purposes.
